NEW ITEMS ON EBAY

These two sets of napkin rings came into the shop as two separate items. One set was made in Japan, with the grapes and the other set I think are German. They are lovely items, but did not sell. I will relist them at a lower price as I am sure that there is a collector in cyber-space who would love them.

Wicker baskets are very collectable items as they are so useful and handmade. This is a good size and I am sure will sell well. It is quite large and has some age to it.

This gorgeous vase is by Oldhall and has been hand painted in a lustre glaze. The colours are really lovely. The vase sold for £10 which is a good amount as we had got £2 in our shop. People forget they are buying from a charity shop and think the charity is for them.

This case has got some age to it. The material is mainly leather and red cord lining. It has two metal zips on the front. I hope to get a good price for this.

This lovely tea pot and sugar bowl is by Sadler and was made in the 50's. The glaze is pearlised and embelished with gilding. They are both in excellent condition and they now have a new owner. A beautiful item.

ITEMS WE HAVE SOLD IN THE LAST MONTH

In the last month we have had some really good sales for the charity. All items are donations, so other than fees for the on line auction or sellers fees with the auction house, everything is pure profit.

The tea pot and toast stand are part of a collection of the Morag collection. It is lovely to see the sheep humanised in a small way. Although they didn't come in their original box, this item was brand new.

The lovely item below is a piece of Portmerion Pottery, Botanic Gardens range. It has full marks on it's base and is very collectable. We received this, along with a lazagne dish, which also sold, and a jug & stand.

This is the dish that came in with the other items. They had obviously been a collection as they had hardly been used.

This gorgeous stained glass panel looks like it has come out of an art deco door. Someone has put a handle and feet on it to make it into a fire screen. Luckily there wasn't much done to it so the buyer can restore if they wish. Although it had quite some age to it, there was no damage to it.

This lovely piece of crystal has been made by a well known maker and it is a retired piece, which makes it very collectable. It is a gorgeous item, and is in excellent condition. I have many of these collectables myself and no room for any more.

The jug below is an art deco flared jug which is in lovely condition given it's age.

I have not included the amount that these lovely items sold for....we all need a secret!!!!!

TYPES OF ITEMS WE SELL

For the past 5 years I have worked for a charity and part of my job has been selling items on internet auction sites as well as sending other items to a local auction house. They enter the items in the auction after valuing them for us and try to get us the best price that they can. All the money raised is used for the work of the charity with older people.

Most of our items are sourced through the two charity shops that are run primarily by volunteers as well as donations and scouring other charity shops to see what lovely items that I can sell. Above is a Spode plate which is still in it's original box. It has been opened but not been used. These types of items which have a limited interest base.

These set of scales are by Salter and are dated 1977. They are wall mounted and items are placed in the brass plate. The whole thing folds up for easy storage. I have a buyer for it at the moment but as it has a few more days to run, I hope I get more bids.

This pram shows you how to be aware. It was donated to one of our shops and is by a well known high street baby shop. I had high hopes for it until we discovered that the cover at the back of the pram had been badly ripped. More of a case of the easiest way to get rid of your rubbish than to hope that we could sell it, which we can't. You live and learn!!

This chamberstick is a lovely item. I found it, along with the scales, in a box of items for the scrap man. The stick is very old and very heavy, so I hope that someone might have a collection of such items. We live in hope.

We recieved this 4 piece cane furniture set from a staff member and have hopes that it will bring in a fair amount of money. The table is slightly faded but everything else is in good condition.

This is the second part of the set

These cake tongues make me think about Betty's Tea Rooms during the turn of the 20th century. They are very ornate and although Sheffield Plate they are in a very good condition. A more genteel time!!

This bowl is a modern piece but I find it gorgeous. I always fall into the trap of my heart overuling my head instead of if there would be a profit in an item. The bowl is made by Kosno which is a Polish company and it has a bubble in the heel of it. The glass is pearlised and has a lovely sheen to it. A lovely item.

The old school bell. I am unsure of the age of this item but it has some wear. The clapper is missing but the bell has a lovely sound. I hope this finds a new home.
